The Charity Sector

Recently we have been doing a lot of work in the charity sector and I just thought I'd share what we've been working on lately. A lot of clients we have are charities who really need websites that can capture the details of their visitors, track what they look at and have effective calls to action - usually to a donations page. We have been building modules on to Halogy that do this.

blog-wiki

Recently we have been developing a Wiki for Halogy. What's so great about a Wiki is that your community help you develop the pages inside. So you might need a load of documentation written, or you might want to write about a recent project that involved lots of people. Well with a Wiki - everyone can be involved with the writing and this saves you a lot of time!

Jquery Field Replace

Posted: 15th May 2009

It's time for some cool Jquery code, it has been too long - we do apologise.

I've been working on my Jquery Field Replace script which automatically switches the value of an input with the title. This is useful if you want to auto populate an input field to explain what it does but not keep it in there. Code is all yours, but please credit us or at least let us know if you have used it by dropping a comment. Enjoy!

Dare to be different!

blog-halogy-logo

We recently released the logo for our flagship product Halogy and received mixed responses. Many said it was very cool and exciting, others didn't like it that much because it was too different and unconventional.

We love to be different and unconventional! A recent quote from a brand designer I know when quized about whether one should use the same typeface as the logo in the rest of the brand:

No. i would never do a typeface that matched the logo that's a recipe for mediocrity.
Having signage, stationary and websites in the same font as your logo is just brand-dilution.

We like to think that with Halogy we have broken the trend to follow mainstream thinking which can lead to mediocrity. We are very proud of our work and what's wrong with being a bit different. One thing is for sure and that is that it's sparking a lot of conversation :-).

Jquery Lightbox for HTML?

Posted: 22nd Apr 2009

We were trying to find a lightbox plugin that works well for HTML (not just images). Normally we would use Shadowbox but they do charge for a commercial license. So another great plugin one can use and easily adapt for use in your own site - is Facebox which looks and feels just like the Facebook popup. We have adapted it lots to make it work well with our apps and it's great. Check it out here.
